Prime Minister Imran Khan has briefed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman on the latest developments in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir following Indian government's unilateral actions on August 5. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman received a telephone call from PM Khan on August 26. During the call, they discussed the latest developments in the region, it stated.

"The Crown Prince was briefed by the Pakistani Prime Minister on the latest developments in Kashmir," the SPA, the official news agency of the Saudi Arabia, further reported. However, the official statement of the telephonic conversations between the two leaders was issued by the PM House here. Earlier on Saturday, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told a news briefing that the Prime Minister wanted to speak with the Crown Princes of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates (UAE) to exchange views on the situation in the occupied valley where there has been a complete communication blackout under a continued lockdown for the last 23 days.

About conferring the highest civilian award on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the UAE government, Qureshi stated that both Pakistan and UAE have good relations, but these ties do not bound the Gulf country not to have bilateral ties with other third country.

"Pakistan enjoys cordial relations with the UAE and once we present the facts to them [about situation in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir], I am hopeful that they [UAE authorities] won't disappoint us," Foreign Minister Qureshi said while talking to media persons in Multan on Sunday last.
